OMG that SUCKED!!!!!

You are gay and that movie was the most boring piece of rubbish to ever be showcased on Newgrounds. You should be ashamed of yourself!

Review for: MV - The Final Day

You'll probably hear this a lot, but the graphical images were well done. However, the actual animation was very limited. This gave it a feeling of some kind of web trailer/teaser for a more serious work.

The score I gave for the Style category reflects animation style (since Graphics is the category which should include graphical style as well as technical rendering).

The story seems so vague, but what you gave us does pique my interest. If you can animate a movie maybe 3 to 5 minutes in duration using this style & story (but with more animation[movement]) you would have a wonderful movie.

Review for: "Laningrounds Melee"

Hey, I saw this a while ago, but didn't have a chance to respond.
Loved the project you guys put together.
Saw that it was partially influenced by Newgrounds Jam. When we get a webpage for NGJ I want to link all the movies that mention NGJ as inspiration in their author's comments.
Congrats to all those who participated in this.

Review for NG Time Trial Challenge

I went over my time limit of an hour so I gave up on the project, but then I heard it turned into a 3-day project, so I might be able to finish today for the next group. And now I get to see how everyone's turned out first ;)

Anyway, time to review the movie(s)-- this was a great "mini-Newgrounds Jam" idea. All the movies were great for the time limit. Although I have to say the most successful was Luis' animation.

Note, the above scores for the categories were kind of averaged for all the movies.

Good job to everyone involved.

Review for "Dead Rain 5"

I enjoyed everything about this, overall just superb. The one thing I wanted more of was lots of zombies getting killed in various ways and zombies eating people.

The graphic design was superb, the animation was smooth and believable, and the sound was great (though sometimes the music seemed a little roughly introduced).

I've watched it twice now. I spotted the Jason cameo the first time though (that's where the score for the humor comes from).

Front page material right here, thanks for the e-mail telling me about this so I get one of the first reviews in ;)

I wanted to put more gore and kills in but it just didnt fit well in this episode.Part 6 will be a warzone though ;) It might be alittle to big for front page..

Review for "Another Day Four"

Another Day Four was a beautiful story that uses the music as its dialogue. Its style of animation is exquisite. One of my favorite series in the portal.
I love the style of graphics you have that contrasts with the mood. Usually we see colorful rabbits and think comedy, but this definitely breaks the mold.
The frame-by-frame animation is impressive, I love it. I always appreciate work the artists put into their movies.
I never got word back from you guys if you'd be interested in working on the Newground Jam. Kind of ironic that was submitted the same day this movie was submitted.
Anyway, keep this series alive. Newgrounds is in desperate need for art like this.

Review for "Spirited Away - Solitude"

I have never seen the animated movie this is based on, but watching this tribute compels me to hunt it down and see what it is like.
The graphics in this were very well done, the background especially was very nice. I don't know if you created it yourself or imported it, but it fit nicely (I'm hoping you painted it yourself). The character was very well done, but the style is based on someone else's work.

The story was short, but very conveying and I enjoyed it. It was really speaking without words, I understood the character's loneliness and solitude due to his existence of whatever he may be.

The animation was nicely done, though limited. Still, it was smooth and had a sense of true movement, you obviously know what you're doing.

Overall, a very nice and short story. (I raised the score to 3.79)

Maurizio responds:

Why thank you.
I guess I should really edit the end credit into saying all artwork done by me - minus the painting. *shrug* well, it's version 0.8, meaning it's not the complete version..so more like version 0.7, heh

Review for "Blob #1"

I believe you when you say you cannot draw, but I love the blobs-- they're very cute... I want to squash them and hurt them in so many cute ways. I'm glad you didn't stay with the stickman drawings as originally intended.

The sound was so appropriate and you animated to it so well. It was so catchy, very nice choice in music... did you make it? If you made it I'd give you a 10 in sound easily.

As far as animation style... there was some nice movement in there, like in the beginning when the first blobs pop out: good use of stretch & squash. Other than that there is really a limitation on movement, being comprised mainly of some motion tweening.

I really liked the giant blob... good job with comminicating his size. I think there's something to do with the story that when the big blob disappeared all the other blobs ceased to exist, although I don't know why the big blob disappeared nor the connection between all of them.

The obvlivious looks on the blobs faces make them so silly. I loved it.

You know, I never saw a Newgrounds movie funnier than this one for some reason. A score of 4 is really high from me in humor. Overall, very good job even though you have such limitations as an artist.

Review for "FF6 Quest Part 3"

There really wasn't much this movie wanted to offer to the viewer. Just some tweening of sprites to a rather vague story.

It wasn't terrible, but it looked like you needed to spend a lot more time with it. Make a complete story-- work out a conflict and a conclusion to the episode, otherwise it's just not going to be interesting.

You picked out some nice music, but, like the sprites, you didn't really do anything to make it. It also did not fit well with the story, it was the kind of music that needed to go with a very dramatic scene... and although you may feel that your movie was dramatic, I don't.

Keep working and you'll improve a lot more.
